7 months later.....

Well, like I thought would happen, I haven't blogged in quite awhile!  But better late than never I guess.
It's picture overload....we've been busy:)

Owen's baptism April 21st...my childhood friend Kathleen and Travis' fraternity brother Alfredo are Owen's godparents.  Owen is wearing the baptismal garment that was worn by my mom and her siblings.

Mother's Day

Soccer game through the YMCA in McKinney

Going to get breakfast on a Saturday in her jammies:)

Emery and I had a mommy/daughter dinner date!

July 4th

Out riding her tricycle...this girl has many faces and is not always happy smiles like most of these pictures show.  Life is not perfect around here and this girl, while she is sweet, has tantrums that can rattle my nerves and make me question my parenting.  To be honest, it takes more patience and perseverance than I ever imagined some days.  The job I have now is incredibly hard, but I feel so thankful that it's mine and I wouldn't change it...well, I've thought about it, but then the next day is always a new day with a fresh start.  So here's our frowny face girl on her bike.

And shortly after, eating a popsicle and smiling:)

Out to dinner with Emery

Checking out Guthrie Green in Tulsa one Saturday

Emery and her friend Taylor swimming and making "cookies"

Travis and I celebrated our 10th anniversary this summer.  Can't believe it's been almost 14 years that we've been together.  I love him so much and feel so blessed that we are together raising two beautiful children.  He's supportive, generous, hard-working, and an amazing father....for that I'm so thankful.  We spent a weekend in Vegas to celebrate!

This summer I met my highschool friends at Skiatook Lake for our annual girls' trip.  So glad that we've kept in touch since graduating...I've even known a couple of these girls since 6th grade:)
(Just missing Nicole in this pic)

Some pictures Travis sent while I was at the lake...Emery the fashionista...she picks out her clothes each morning and gets herself dressed.  She asks what the weather is going to be like that day so she knows what she'll need to wear!  It's always a surprise what she'll come downstairs in!  And she changes outfits at least twice a day.  I just love this little girl and her personality...so full of life!

and Owen who decided to pull up to standing while I was gone!

Happy baby....he's cutting molars now, so he's now our drooly, somewhat fussy happy baby:)

Countdown chain to Auntie Juju's arrival!
Auntie Juju came for a visit in August!  We went to Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas for lunch at the food trucks and then headed to the new Perot Museum of Science and Nature.  FUN day!!

Julia and I got an evening out together!  We went to eat at a pizza place in Dallas and then to a bar for a drink and some sister time....oh how I miss her.

First day of ballet/tap class with Ms. Crystal!

Labor Day weekend visit from Grandad and  Gramma

Emery's first day at the Frisco Early Childhood School for speech therapy.  She loves her teacher Ms. Ryan and is learning so much there!

First day of mother's day out at Crosspoint for both kids...Emery is a raccoon and Owen is a firefly this year!

Good ole bath in the laundry room sink!

Emery loves to get in Owen's crib...makes her look huge!!

Emery and baby Lucy dressed alike:)

Enjoying some tricycle riding while brother is napping...it's about time for a big girl bike.  Her legs are hitting the handlebars!

Our friends Katy and Kevin (from AR) came to visit in early October with their little boy Dawson.  We walked to the pumpkin patch close to our house.  We miss them dearly, but love our time together while they're here!

His favorite toys...stuff out of the kitchen cabinets:)

First family trip to the State Fair of Texas!  We had Fletcher's corn dogs, fried Nutella, chocolate dipped ice cream cone, french fries, and a fried cherry pie....and I paid for it with a tummy ache!  Emery absolutely had so much fun riding the rides and hanging out with our friends Bonney, Greg, and their kids Carson and Hannah.  It's going to be our new tradition each year:)

The only time Owen is interested in walking is when someone is holding his hand!  I'm kinda ready for him to walk....not rushing him growing up though:)

Emery's fall party on Halloween at school....pumpkin decorating, story time, and they made a scarecrow cookie.

Emery's sweet friend Lindley:)

We had a birthday party for Owen to celebrate his 1st birthday!  Just can't believe that he's one already...the first year the second time around sure went by faster!!

Our friend Chelsea with her daughter Blakeley

Our friend Ryan and her two lil spiders....LOVE them!

Owen has been teething (working on some molars) and didn't have much sleep earlier in the day at school, so he wasn't too thrilled about birthday cake and a family picture....oh well, it's real life!!

Daddy makes it all better though:)

Our friends ready to trick-or-treat!

My sweet mommy friends and some of our kiddos...Jenn, Ryan, Erica, and Amber.  So thankful for these ladies and their mommy advice and encouragement.

Gramma and her lil punkin:)

We were so happy that my parents were here for Owen's birthday and trick-or-treating.  I'm so blessed with these two amazing parents and grateful for the love they show to our children.

Emery checking out the loot!

Owen loved the boxes and tissue paper while opening birthday presents!

There's drool everywhere!!!

A new soccer ball...he already loves it!

Travis got Owen a toy to ride on.....he's been using Emery's pink princess car to get around:)  It came with a wrench and a hammer...perfect!!!

Our two sweet babies
Happy birthday, Owen!  We love you!!
